The hand-loom technique used to weave the textile used in this bag is called “ikat”, a system of tye-ing and dyeing threads to create intricate patterns. These hand woven cloths are made by the Dayak Desa residing in Sintang, West Kalimantan. Most of the material used in coloring traditional “ikat” designs comes from the forest; from barks, roots, seeds, and other forest produce. The handle and bottom of this bag are made of all genuine leather.
